Crisis
Changing Lives
|
Crisis is the national homeless charity for single homeless people. The Crisis Changing Lives programme provides financial awards to people who are homeless or vulnerably housed so that they may achieve their vocational goals. The grant (maximum of £2,000) can be used to pay for course fees, course equipment, tools for work or equipment to start up a business. Over the past four years they have allocated awards to a number of applicants via various Women's Aids across the country, from Ipswich to East Fife, Derry to Neath. They have provided funding to women to help them achieve many different goals, including audiology, interpretering and IT support. Women need to be working with a key worker who will support their application, write them a reference and take on the funds for Crisis if the woman is successful. They are keen to increase applications nationwide, in particular with women who have experienced homelessness. |
For further information and to confirm their application criteria please contact the team at Crisis on 0870 011 3335, or email changing.lives@crisis.org.uk. Their homepage at www.crisis.org.uk also has plenty of information, case studies and application tips. |
