• To enable service users to become more involved in Priority Youth Housing’s policies, procedures etc.

• To enable service users to plan and fundraise for activities.

If your answer to any of the above is ‘Yes’ then Meet up, Speak up can help to achieve this.

The background

Meet up, Speak up was established by some of Priority Youth Housing’s service users with support from staff. The idea they had was to set up a forum where anyone housed by, or receiving support from Priority can get together to discuss the service they receive from Priority as well as any other issues affecting them, their housing or support. It was also set up to provide an opportunity for service users to influence the service they receive from Priority.

The initial objectives were expanded to include planning activities and fundraising for activities.

It is hoped that it will eventually be run by young people for young people. Priority Youth Housing’s staff will provide support and resources to enable this to happen.

Meet up, Speak up can also provide an opportunity for young people to develop new skills and potentially receive nationally recognised qualifications.
