GUIDANCE NOTES ON COMPLETION OF APPLICATION FORM

Thank you for your interest in applying for a post with Priority Youth Housing.  The following guidance notes are intended to assist you in preparing your application form.

1                    Please ensure that you answer all of the questions and that your writing is easy to read.

It is important that you complete and return the Employment Application Monitoring form.  This information is not available to those people shortlisting, but is used to monitor our compliance with our Equal Opportunities Policy.

2                    Accompanying the Application form is a Person Specification, which sets out the knowledge, skills and attributes that we are looking for.  This is the main criteria against which your application will be assessed.  It is important, when you complete your application form, that you clearly match your skills, which you may have acquired within previous employment/voluntary/community work, etc, to the requirements listed in the Person Specification.  Only those applicants that show that they have the essential requirements in the Person Spec will be considered further.

3                    Please give accurate dates and reasons for leaving previous jobs.

4                    References will be required for all jobs within the organisation. Wherever possible, your current employer should be named as someone who can be approached as a referee. Other references should include previous employers or supervisors from voluntary work.  References provided by relatives are not acceptable. It is helpful if your referees are aware that you have used their name before we contact them to obtain information.

5                    Additional information may be provided on blank paper,  with your applicant number clearly marked on each additional sheet.
